Home»Good Night, Harrisburg
A Moment — We uncertain step
For newness of the night —
Then — fit our Vision to the Dark —
And meet the Road — erect —
We mask, we social distance, we quarantine. And yet we continue. I came out of the pandemic seeming to have lost my photography footing. Then a friend from Philadelphia began posting a photo from her daily walks on Facebook with the heading “Good morning, Philadelphia.” Her project inspired me to get back on the street and do what I had neglected for at least a year. Because I enjoy night photography I decided to scour the city and surrounding area for colorful subjects that lit up the darkness and I wasn’t disappointed. Even without the abundance of people who populated the streets pre-pandemic, the sometimes dull and often drab daytime streets came alive in the darkness. I hope you enjoy these images from my “Good night, Harrisburg” project.
With sincere appreciation of Emily Dickinson
